CookingWe started Liphook Rangers in the summer of 2004. Now we are a small established Unit, but are about to grow a little more with some of the older Guides ready to move up shortly.

Rangers meet once a fortnight and plan their own programmes. They enjoy a wide range of activities such as round the village treasure hunts, arts and crafts, bowling trips, discussions, camps and working on the Look Wider scheme, planning parties for the Units, and an infinite list of other things.

Playzone, a scavenger hunt, glass painting, Christmas Wreaths, Christmas crackers, Rounders (in the dark) and a treasure hunt around the village using Guider's houses to hide the clues, and a celebration meal at our local pub are just some of the activities the Rangers have had the chance to enjoy.

The Rangers have not just had fun by themselves, but they have mixed with the District and beyond when they held a BBQ for the Guiders, Young Leaders and Friends of Guiding. On one occasion, two girls from Petersfield District came to visit and see what Rangers do.

The Rangers worked hard in October 2004 when they planned and carried out a Halloween party for 2 nd Liphook Guides.

In September 2004 Amy and Victoria attended Zero 4, the Region Senior Section camp near Bristol with hundreds of other girls.

A group of seven attended Zero 5 at Foxlease in the New Forest in September 2005 and had a great time.

In 2006 a fun two night weekend was held at Rogate Village Hall and Victoria gained her residential license.

Three Rangers accompanied Victoria on a fabulous long weekend in York as part of Victoria's Queen's Guide Award.

See Senior Section Camps and Holidays for a report of these events.

ClimbingRangers enjoyed a challenging evening on the Scouts climbing wall, aided by one of the Liphook Scout Leaders who is a qualified instructor. The Network Scouts also called in to "assist"!

Several girls got to the top of the climbing wall, whilst others prefered to keep their feet firmly on the ground and help with belaying. All had a good time.

If you are interested in becoming a Ranger or just visiting to try it out, see Joining Rangers.
