LIPHOOK DISTRICT GUIDES
Becoming a Unit Helper
Unit Helpers are not Guiders and do not wear a Uniform, although they can wear GirlguidingUK activity wear and a raspberry badge tab.
They attend weekly meetings and assist the Leaders to run the Unit. Unit Helpers are invaluable to Guiders and play an important role.
You have to be over 18 and under 65 but you do not have to be female to be a Unit Helper..
You can attend trainings and get involved in all sorts of District activities, or you can opt just to turn up once a week at the Unit meeting.
If you are interested in being a Unit Helper, the first step is to have an informal meeting with our District Coordinator to discuss matters such as your availability and which age group you would prefer to work with.
She will help you complete the paperwork and deal with the CRB check, which is a procedure set up to check all volunteers with the Criminal Record Bureau. Then you will be ready to start!
